Constant Trailer warning and Indicator Relay Issue
After bringing my 20001 TD5 back from the garage, I noted an occasional ticking sound coming from the area of the flash relay. Over the coming days, this got worse and now, the flasher relay is constantly operating. The indicator function is unaffected, all the bulbs are functioning correctly and the hazards work properly. When I have no indicator selected, the flasher relay ticks away at double the frequency with the trailer warning light showing on the dash. The vehicle has a trailer point fitted which I haven't had a chance to check out, yet (due to constant snow over the last few days).

Can anyone assist me with diagnosing this (I went back to the garage as they had cocked up some other repairs and I'm not prepared to waste another 100 mile round trip and a day off work on them)?

Yours Aye

I would start on the trailer socket and make sure that it does not have water in it or damp mud, make sure that the connecting are clean and in place and tight. This often a cause of the symptoms you describe on most vehicles fitted with towing sockets. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

Rig up a temp earth, see what happens.
It's very easy to follow and might give yiu and indication straight away if it is that.
