Interesting to hear that EGRs can last a considerable amount of time.... I presumed they were all doomed to fail.

Millers I believe make a claim that their fuel additive massively reduces soot formation, again no idea if this is true, however it's not saved my EGR it's most definately had it.

Although it did last longer that the previous posters at 5 thousand ks.

Hmm as a diesel engineer I would strongly suggest not putting it in anything with a DPF. As a diesel engineer that has experienced a few multi-authority stops in rural areas including diesel dipping I certainly wouldn't use any two stroke oil that's red in colour Laughing

the amount of 2so you put in is not enough to show as red in the diesel , i thought that it might , so added some 2so drove it so mixed in then dipped some out , and you couldnt see that it looked red at all , cant remember what make it was but course some 2so might be a stronger red colour

or just use green 2so

As far as i know if you get dipped and it looks suspect then a sample is taken for checking , as no tax offence has taken place i would say there couldnt be anything customs and excise could fine you for
Anyone know different ?

as for using 2so in dpf eqquipped vehicle i dont know , but some do

as posted before at the last MOT the tester could not believe how low my BMs emissions were, he thought his kit was u/s and tested it on another vehicle to be sure it was working. I do also change the oil every 8k and give it a good run up the motorway every now and again but it is mostly driven around town. Im convinced 2S0 (good stuff at low quantities) does no harm but does lubricate the whole fuel system and makes diesels smoother DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

A lot on the disco3 site use 2so and they all seem to agree it makes the engine much quiter,

You do also get an occasional Castrol R smell which for those of us old enough to remember must be a good thing!

I've got to say that......I tried the 2SO and even after wanting to find a difference couldn't. So I recently started using BP Ultimate, and, definitely improved running, more responsive and less cold smoke when starting. I wouldn't say that the mileage gain is worth the additional cost but it has improved. I don't think I'm fooling myself because the inside of the exhaust tail pipe is more like a vehicle with a DPF with greatly reduced soot. Confused I started with nothing and still have most of it left!
