I agree with that. I originally tried a silicone grease and wd40 .. the result was i couldn't turn it at all. I'd try the graphite powder. 2008 Defender 110 XS SW - M57N2 / 6HP28X

My ignition key lock sometimes has also äcted a bit difficult. Not a problem to put the key in, but then a bit of a struggle sometimes to get the key to turn to position 1...
So just greased the lock with graphite powder tonight, and all is back to normal. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Hmmm this has reared its ugly head again in a bigger way now, i can't get the key out of the ignition now at all. Tried WD40, seems stuck on the final out point, fan and radio still powered.
Anything i can do myself over the weekend ? Also can anyone put a Ball Park Figure on having it replaced? Thanks JD 2008 TDCi 2.4 XS CSW |
