Safety Devices Cage Accessory
I’m about to have an SD external cage fitted to my 110 and was perusing the SD website when I stumbled upon these:

https://shop.safetydevices.com/collections...pgrade-kit

Anybody have experience with whether they’re worth having? Seems a lot of money for some rubber gaskets, especially as the cages aren’t cheap in the first place! Seems the stock gaskets are ‘foam’. However, I will stump up the extra £50 if the consensus is positive.

I would appreciate any feedback from those with knowledge/experience of these.

I have these on my cage but it was fitted by the previous owner. I can say they look tidy but apart from that I'm not much help Laughing

I’d fit them. Land Rover fitted them to my Black and I think it would look a bit unfinished without them, although yes, it does seem rather expensive for a few bits of rubber. 2002 110 td5

They come with the cage, when I checked with SD when they fitted mine they said they were only on the website as replacements for existing... I had the same concern.

By all means check with them when your cage is ordered but should be ok.

They're part of the cage to body sealing mechanism. You could do them with sealer but using these and a small amount of sealer is better.

Thread update for those who care:

Cage supplied and fitted with a full set of grommets! Clearly, replacements are available if/when the rubber gives up.

When I fitted my SD cage the front legs had the rubber seal but the four for the tub were a neoprene foam.

As the fit was so tight the neoprene seals want to fold under the cage feet and were a real Pita.

Go with the rubber ones if SD still don't supply them as standard.
