Did you go for tint or security film?

This video shows a Defender having a half brick thrown at it http://www.diamondtinting.co.uk/sf_video.html

Did you have someone else do it or did you DIY? One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

Tinting!
Had mine done too quite some time ago! Cost me £180 and well worth it especially in the Summer when anything you leave in the rear fades to bu993ry! You can go the whole hogg and have all the windows removed to have it fitted but the sliders need the frames drilling out. I didn't bother and only an expert at close range can tell the difference. Hence the low price. Got a five year warranty as well to boot.
Downside is that if you suffer the rear heated widow fault where the stoplight cover wears through the top two filaments they won't swap it out under warranty as it's been tinted. Doesn't really matter that much as with a 95% tint and at night I can't see much anyway!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!

Tempted to get the windows tinted on mine.

As it's a hard top it'll only be the back windows and the alpine lights that'll want doing, and possibly a slight tint on the front doors.

Whats the best to go for? Actual windows out jobber or a film-type jobber? Will the rear window demister 'burn through' the tint in time? Want a pretty dark tint too, so it'll be obvious if it burns through.

Sorry if the questions sound quite amateurish, I have no idea on such things Embarassed

Hi Warren,

The film is actually trimmed around my heating element so should not burn through Thumbs Up

Not sure of the cost of hard tops/utilities, i ll find out Thumbs Up

The rear quarter and roof windows ideally need to come out to get the best finish. You cannot teach stupid people to do clever things
