Applying Waxoyl with underbody accessories?
Hi all,

What is usually done when Waxoyl is applied to a Defender with underbody accessories - ie steering guards etc? Are they first removed, or can it be applied w/o removing them?

looks neater if you remove them first then refit the shiny stuff over the nice clean black under side, or you could spend time cleaning of the overspray from your steering guard and the once silver diff guards. and weeks later still be spotting bits when you get to look from diferent angles and it looks scruffy and your frustrated and feel like you have made your pride and joy look worse not better and and and ........................ I left my guards on. There's overspray on the steering guard. Personally I don't mind - I don't really want it to look shiny anyway because it betrays the fact that I don't to enough off road. Embarassed

However, if anything you have makes it harder to get the coating on then you should remove it (they couldn't do behind my diff guard, for example) so I'll do that myself when I replace it. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS
