When I had this, it turned out to be the rear oil seal leaking onto the handbrake drum. A P0022 recall fixed it.

Thanks Merlin - it is dry, but will have a better look at the weekend. it is also 2005 TD5, which I didn't mention as I believe most differences are subtle.
No Steve not checked yet, predominately due to the precipitation falling. Can't see what will have causwed a blockage, might be wrong but no events of note |

^^ That was what I saw thinking, I thought the same with mine though and even checked it and found it was clear. So it's a possibility. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Leaks are a real pain in the backside I know that, I don't think there is many that don't at least a little. It depends how severe it is determines the course of action to take. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

What oil is in there are you sure it's been put in to the correct grade? If you did it yourself then won't be the issue. I know the smell you mean though.... think leaking vintage tractor. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

I did the hubs, researched and used correct grade IIRC EP75/80. Been fine, oil level is good so don't think it can be the diffs
