Puma going into limp mode
Lets list all the reasons there are for a Puma to go into limp mode..

I have a friend with a 130. Remapped and upgraded intercooler, but goes into limp mode from time to time when driven hard. (even on cold days) Everything works normal, but just can't exceed 60km/h when this happens.

Reason 1 can be: Faulty / Dirty MAP sensor

Please add possible reasons.

You guys probably won't believe this, but a local Puma goes into limp mode when driving past an Air Force base, most likely due to interference with the immobiliser:

Quote:
Please help me to explain a very strange Puma behavior, which happened now twice exactly on the same stretch off highway (N1 along Ysterplat Air force Base, Cape Town) two weeks apart:

Driving at 100 km/h suddenly the speed decreases to 80 km/h and one can feel there is simply no power to accelerate. This condition remains until the engine is switched off, then all is back to normal.

I might add there are no warning lights, no abnormal noise, no smoke, nothing. The road is level, the truck was not loaded and had enough Diesel in the tank.

The only time (sofar) mine's gone into limp mode, due to a leaking pipe from turbo to intercooler, I couldn't get anywhere near 60kph! It was closer to 25kph.

Does "limp mode" limit the truck to different maxima depending on what's wrong?

Don't know yet. He is not close to me to go and check. But he drove around today for about 50km and experienced no issues.
If I can get to him I'll plug my UltraGauge in and see if it picks up any fault codes
