2013 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 HT Orkney Grey
2.2 defender
Evening all! Just wondering if there are any members with a 2.2 around Taunton, somerset area???? Iv recently taken delivery of a new defender but I'm really struggling to get used to it!! Iv just got back from a 1000 mile trip up north and was hoping I'd get used to it, from some one none mechanical it is as though there is so much slack in the drive line and a few massive flat spots through the rev range! I'd just like to go out in another one just to ease my mind!! Any one able to help??????

I own a 2.4 however i just bought it a few months ago and swapped it from a Ford Focus RS running 350bhp+ so i completely understand what you are talking about. All i can say is though a few months and you do get the hang of it although im not perfect.

The way i think of it is there is a clunky gearbox, clunky transfer box and clunky diffs all making one hell of a clunk. Why other motors can do this without the huge clunk that defenders do is down to build i think.

You'll get there just like me getting used to my "180" BHP.... i love it though Cool William

Steve it's a 2013 2.2 90! Only had it 3 weeks so the software should all be up to date! How far can I go with the tuning before any physical changes?? Eg different stages?? Are there any other subtle things u can do?? Air filter any unwanted flaps or restrict in the intake ??
