It's for the type pictured at the top of this topic... ![]() The app still uses text messages, it just creates and formats the text messages for you. They come under various guises but are normally have model numbers TK102, TK103, TK104, TK105 or TK106. OK, thanks. I have an other brand tracker with different command codes, I assume the command codes are not programmable?

They aren't at the moment but if you want to point me at a manual for the one you have or send me the codes I can always add a "device type" to the device definition that would allow you to choose the type of device so it can generate suitable commands. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/

Yes, unless you want to use the voice surveillance function - then when you call it, it acts like a normal mobile phone.
£5 a month sounds good. I'm paying 10 Euros for the same in Germany. Similarly, mine has unlimited SMS but also a phone-call function that is charged (still cheap though). The number of times I call in surveillance mode should be very small. Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

I wondered about the voice monitoring, but I thought the places I'd hide the tracker in would preclude it picking up any voice sounds anyway.
Have you used voice monitoring in anger, or just tested it..? Cheers Simon |

I hid it in a colleague's office for a while, if that's what you mean. Felt rather naughty actually
![]() *Edit* told him afterwards (damn my guilt complex) - luckily he's a friend too ![]() But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Actually, just checked and the deal includes free GiffGaff to GiffGaff calls so I can also use the voice function from my phone to the tracker.

No mobile network reaches everywhere. For your purposes I'd say a mobile with good antenna pick up is important. The small &/or complex pack more hardware & have less antenna space as a result.
I find older simpler phones, even those with an exterial aerial, pick up weaker signals than my Blackberries. So a phone that is for tracker only might be best, also less background functions = less battery useage. If you go for layered, i.e. multiple trackers, a different mobile/network for each tracker is good belt & braces. For those that were testing the app, it's passed review and is available on the app store now...
https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/tkcontroll...1&mt=8 You should delete the test app and install the release one from the app store. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/ |

Dave, App looks great! Do you think its possible to adapt the app with the commands for my tracker? I think so, although it's not as straight forward as just changing the commands, for the stockade function, as an example, you have to set the stockade first and then activate it as a separate command as far as I can see from the manual anyway.
I'm looking at adding a "device type" to the device settings which will allow me to change the way the app behaves and the text on the various buttons. With that in mind and assuming it stays with 8 buttons on the front screen, what would be your preferred functions for each of the buttons ? Stockade On/Off can presumably stay the same with perhaps an extra button on the stockade map screen to set the stockade area ? http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/ |
