Certainly wouldn't run it without further investigation.
Td5 head crack more likely into / from exhaust.
I'm thinking head gasket?
When you squeeze the top hose does it feel like filled with coola ...

Skimming head, according to the manual...no.
Did mine (had it done) and seems to have worked +25k miles.
Replaced the plastic head locating dowels with steel.
Mine had a crack in an exhaust port so ...

And if its stainless, don't let the dril rub or it'll work harden and you'll be b*****ed.
High speed steel drills can get pretty hot and stay sharp. Carbon steel, not so much.

Immobiliser battery? Or battery retainer in handset. Can break and give intermittant operation.
Think number of flashes (indicators) gives a clue re battery health.

Just a thought, in 4th gear, then you have the same RPM as the front. Only complication is the rotation being reversed (not good for some pumps).

Glad I didn't print it out.

So long as bottom half leaks too. Good old 80" was great, wash with hose inside and out!
It was a soft top too, so didn't leak at all Thumbs Up

Keep in mind cold will affect battery performance. Could be a cumulative effect of a few things being "off".
Fixing one fault might not be enough and lack of fix may not mean what you chang ...
