Hi All,
I finally got round to swapping out the radiator, and I think you can see from the photos, it was definitely this at fault!

I tried to flush the radiator out, ran a hose to it and left it running until the water ran clear, then repeated from the bottom upwards. - Sadly there was no improvement at all. ... |

6 months or so ago I had an Allard stage II turbo and intercooler fitted to my 300tdi. I asked the garage that fitted them to tweek the fuel / air / turbo settings to take advantage.

I can't get the "buzzer" sound to activate again now the new switch is fitted, so it looks like you could be correct.
