Best location for an outside air temp probe?
As above, I’ve fitted RedArc gauges to my 2012 Defender 110.
Some of these gauges have the ability to provide external (or internal) ambient air temps and have a water proof/UV stable temp probe on a long cable.
I’m after suggestions as to where to route/locate the temp probe to provide a realistic outside temp, I.e not effected by direct sun vs reading ambient temp. I have a Safari snorkel fitted to my one 110, and so thanks in advance for any advice on how/where you’ve routed and located yours, and the benefits/issues.

I mounted mine behind the drivers side headlight only issue is when vehicle is stationary the heat from the engine affects the reading it soon gives the correct reading once moving again.

I’ve placed mine in the airintake box. The reasoning behind that was there’s a lot of airflow going through and it’s on the inside so never direct sunlight.
And as far I can see it’s working as intended after the first 5 minutes.a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover
