Chile 2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Chawton White
Gearbox
According to the latest Microcat, the gearbox item, shows quite a lot new (replacement) bits or perhaps mod pieces (shafts, gears, synchronizers, rollers, etc).

Any tech bulletin on this matter? I know some people got the gearbox exchanged, but why?

thanks Puma 110" SW

Thanks MK

......mhmmmm

it's seems an early MY2007 revision ...... for the 1st massive gearbox revision and only
same synchronizers for MY2009

For example, mine (bought in december 2008) is a MY2008 with VIN 8A759xyz

Had gearbox changed a couple of weeks ago to fix defective 1st to 2nd synchro. Doesn't seem to have made much difference though. Back to the dealers I guess, but not very hopeful!!!

Problems can carry on as some dealers don't check that they are fitting the later box,as with the earlier engines with the sticking piston jets etc. 2.4 90 XS

Anyone know how I tell if the "later box" has been fitted.
Thanks, Bosun.
