throtle repsonce - while in low ratio
hi all
have read another thred that deals with a similar problem, but as i am not to sure if the other is dealing with throtle responce in low or high ration, i have posted this question.

when i select low ratio, engage gears and start moving off, the engine tries to rev almost as if it is an antistall setup. if i accellerate, and then let off the throtle it stops doing it for a few seconds then starts again. this only happens in low ratio.

it's a bit of a problem when trying to desend rocks as i was at the weekend, and trying to hold the car with the gears, caused a few hairy moments.

anybody any ideas as to what this could be? i should point out, that i have had an auto box fitted. Cheers

The puma has an idle jack in low range that lifts the revs up to about 1200 rpm, this operates when the clutch is lifted. As you have an auto box I have no idea whats going on.

If you are trying to slow down the revs, turn every thing on heated seats, heated windows, AC, fan.

The AC fan was always a great trick for me to control revs. Mike

have already thought about that, but the chaps at stirling who i use are pretty good, and the have said that the warrenty will not be affected by what i have had done.
i do not think it is a major issue, and it is something that i can live with, makes it easier to go up hills as i do not have to hold onto the hnad controls.

thanks agian. Cheers
