We use our "sofa" and "table" as steps. See picture in bottom left and right corners:
https://www.kraxlr.de/makingof.html#tuv However, getting in or out when your other half is already/still in bed is a little gymnastic exercise |

Yes the fabric line down the middle of the bed is original and I think its part of the slatting process for when the bed was made - not seen one without this yet ...
The double slat tensioners are useful initially, but once we found the right place to set them, we haven’t moved them since. That strip came with it. It's a double belt strap 'enclosing' each of the slats. TBH I never really thought about it. I found this picture where you can see it a little better. It also shows a little improvement I made after banging my head for the second time because the roof was up but the bed was down when I got in through the rear door A strip of foam covered by car carpet. I thought about attaching a sign "mind you head" Click image to enlarge |

Thought I'd post a couple of pictures of the truck and poptop finally in action!
We've spent a week in southern France and are now in the Pyrenees where tomorrow morning we start a week long off road guided tour through the mountains.. Can't wait for that! Poptop has been awesome and paired with an oztent gives so much flexibility and setup options. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

I’m looking for an Oztent RV2 to replace our Caranex on the Dormobile, what model is yours and where do you store it when travelling?
Cheers |

Ours is an RV4 which is a bit generous for 2 people but I got it almost new on ebay for £800 with the floor and side panels so was a real bargain.
My truck is a hard top so no rear seats and the tent just fits diagonally across the rear. I use a lot of wolf boxes to stow our gear so the tent is nicely supported and doesn't move around. I think the RV2 is a little shorter so it might fit lengthwise.. If you don't have rear seats! |

Hi all
giving an over view of some of the pop tops on the market, the video attached gives reviews of some of the conversions available at the moment - sadly x-v-x isn’t one of the tops being reviewed here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RJm6Nwnhp0 Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html Elgar -TDCI(Puma) 110XS Dormobile - now sold Devon & Cornwall 4x4 Response - DC126 Last edited by wyvern on 8th Sep 2022 4:54pm. Hi Andy, Who are you using for your guided tour of the Pyrenees, just asking out of curiosity, as I went in 2012 with Landtreks. Have a great time, I’m sure you will, don’t forget lots of pictures, Ashby Andy 👍 |

I just noticed this, too. Picture caption says "Which one is the best pop-top?" and I resisted to post a comment "x-v-x, but you didn't show that" They had already asked if I'd like to do a room tour of our Defender, but I'm so camera shy |
