Yes wild camping is permitted in Scotland. This does not technically extend to motor vehicles, though many people ignore this.

All you need to know here:

It is illegal to wild camp in England (and Wales but I doubt you are entering Wales)

However it is generally not regulated by the police so provided you are considerate it is likely that nobody will bother you.

Alternatively just ask the landowners permission, then it is perfectly legal > 110 XS Double Cab

If you are coming into the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park area there are very strict fly / wild camping rules between April and October. There are some areas where it is prohibited due to abuse by campers. I live on the edge of the National Park and TBH it is an extremely popular place to visit and can get very very busy and often the traffic volume is so high (especially on warm sunny Saturdays and Sundays) it’s worth staying put until late evening. Last Sunday it took me 2hours to cover 14 miles on the A82 road along the west shore of Loch Lomond the day tripper were so numerous!
The Park authorities have a website and their camping info is here
https://www.lochlomond-trossachs.org/disco...onal-park/

And

https://www.lochlomond-trossachs.org/thing...-campsite/

Additionally please remember that it is prohibited to drive off road up here without written permission of the land owner except on certain “Forest Drives” details here for the one in the National park - there is a camping site within this drive and it is very beautiful

One place worth a detour to is The Road To The Isles through Glen Etive off the road through Glen Coe
If you do camp overnight at the end of the road be prepared to wake up to lots of wild deer surrounding your pitch!

I would suggest that if you want to do some gentle off-roading here there are quite a few off-road clubs that run “green road runs” throughout the year - suggest you contact this one to see about joining on one of their runs if they any while you are visiting https://www.scotgrc.co.uk/contact-us/ Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Clearly someone hasn’t told the ‘caravan club’ that have arrived about two miles from here littering and anything else that will require a biohazard clean up crew once they have finally gone……

One rule for one, one for the others….. Whistle
