fekete Member Since: 24 Dec 2008 Location: Here on the other end of the computer Posts: 3626	Rattling Back Door Hi guys, When driving along the road my back door sounds like its open. (RATTLING) i'v tried to slam it but still the same. All the bolts and screws seem secure As this is my first Defender im not too sure if this is normal for this vehicle any one else with this problem? Regards Karl NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. Fekete, I have the same problem (before the problem with the wheel carrier). Appears to be that the play provided in the lock is not enough to get a good adjustment. My back door have at least 3/4 inch of separation with the back panels in the top and is well adjusted in the bottom. In my case I believe that the unsupport upper part of the door caising a rattle. MK Thanks, Ed, The rattle does seem to be because of the top of the door out, Mine must be 1/2 inch at the top and is like your's well adjusted at bottom it's really getting on my nerves i keep looking round to see if the door is open i thought that someone had tried to bend it open at first but looks like just another Defender problem. Have a look and if you see light (during the day ) coming between the seal and door frame, then you need to adjust it. If not possible, then take it to the stealer Puma 110" SW ............................................................. Earth first. Other planets later

I had to adjust the keep on mine to prevent rattle however things seem to have 'moved' from the door shutting / opening and being 'perfect' to now not opening so well. The door seems to 'drag' on the keep when you try and open the door. Previously the door kinda popped open and now you need to pull it out over the keep. Its as though the keep is slightly higher than it should be? From memory the keep only adjusts in/out and not up/down. The door fit appears 'perfect' so not sure what the best option is?
