Changing TD5 fuel filter
Is it necessary to fill the new filter with diesel before fitting it.
Or will the TD5 Auto Purge mode sort that out?

Leave the purge running for a few minutes, if you don't they can be a pig to get going again.

That was what l wanted to know!

I always fill the filter with diesel but it’s a faff to do, and you have to have some diesel handy to do it. So if l can just fit the filter empty and wait for the purge cycle to sort it out then that will be great.

I don't bother filling it. But does the diesel go from the inside to the outside or from the outside to the inside? Roel
