As pete said they really dont like warranty claims when a map is done - as a firend found out; but also if you dont tell them they dont know Wink

The other thing with warranty and land rover is the arguement of what is a fit for purpose. EG: a roof rack designed to fit the defender, by a reputable brand, in a way that land rover would have their own, should be the same as genuine one - unless they state NO aftermarket kit must be fitted.

To link this to your example, i seem to recall that there is a specific NO to remaps.

But remember there will always be the fit for purpose & reasonable use arguement to complicate matters Big Cry Mike

How long did it take for your Autologic map to cause you problems ?

Was it problematic as soon as it was programmed or did it develop after some driving time.

Im just cusious to hear about all problems on this new model of car, im getting a bit info geeky over them lol

Regards Pete

Was only in about a week. To be fair to the guy who installed it he did alot of leg work for me to get to the cause of the problem . I am now led to believe, that Autologic tune was not the problem but the Common Rail System. Was just more obvious when the tune went in. Pete have you come across this in any of the vehicles you have tuned ?

Having said that the engine warning light has not come on since the tune was removed !!

Have to try and convince my local dealer now that there is something up now as its only noticeable now and again .

Ive seen many problems on this car even in standard form.

All sorts of problems from injector pump calibration missing to loss of injector codes.

You may just have been unlucky with the generic type tune of your car and itjust did not like it for some reason.

If your ever over in the UK in my part of the counrty for a few days ill install my map and give you a sample test to see if we can find the answer to your particular problem.

Regards Pete

Pete,

Car back at the Dealer for warranty work , they say my running problems were as a result of a faulty fuel switch.
So reckon that was the cause of problems I was having with the Autologic Tune. To be fair to Autologic they did suggest that this might be the case.

Hope to reinstall the tune now and I will be on to you for EGR blanking plate and decat exhaust .

I have the de-cat exhaust and the middle box replacement straight through pipe on mine and it goes so much better than standard.

Bogblaster - is your vehicle running std tune or was it when you fitted the de-cat pipe and straight through mid?

just wondering if its worth doing these mods without a retune.

My td5 went alot better with the straight through mid pipe and no cat but it was chipped and most people just seemed to report more noise and no power change with a straight through and no chip. Cheers

My 90 has been tuned since the 10th day of ownership! Started with a Autologic tune (they trialled with mine) but the throttle response was a bit dicky, they have sorted it out now. Then Allisport put a bigger intercooler on (I tow a lot) and the Autologic tune didnt seem as good, so Andy at allisport put his tune on for a trial, I personally preferred it, then came the de-cat and the middle box out and Andy put on another tune (Allisport use BAS remaps) and it had the speed limiter removed as well. Have stuck with that since LRW at Eastnor last summer.

The final Autolgic tune to my mind was a bit too raucous, I reckon if I had kept it on I'd have been racing GTI's away from the lights!

So, in answer to your question, no, but I understand that a de-cat exhaust will improve grunt. Pete is your man.

Pete

what sort of gains would you expect with a remap on the TDCi? and whats the cost. i had a look on your site and found the LR remaps listed they seemed to then be linked to further information but nothing came up when i clicked on them. Cheers
