As said the brush bars always get wrapped in hair so scissors out once a month, the filter design is different to earlier Dyson models I've had but easy to access and if you follow the recommended rinsing out once a month they last for years. As with any Dyson all the pipes seperate from each other so it's easy to clear out any blockages and out of every vac I've used Dyson always seem to the most powerful. Not sure if they are still available, but my mother bought a Nilfisk in the early 80's and i'm still using it now as my workshop hoover. It was hellish expensive if I remember correctly but lasts the distance.
