2006 Defender 90 Td5 HT Zambezi Silver
oil leak
my 2006 defender 32000 miles drops oil after any long distance drive not agreat amount but its anoying icant find the source engine oil seems to b the same not losing any on dipstick any ideas welcome

put paper underneath and see where its coming from. possibles are diffs, transfer box, gearbox, axles etc.

Check not leaking from oil filter, may need to be tightened. Also Fuel pressure regulator on rear of engine drivers side, these can start to leak diesel, common on td5.

stevie d, i had the same thought

my 2001 had what i thought was an oil leak but never lost any, turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator leaking, as the fuel ran down teh side of the engine it was catching all the crap with it and it looked like oil underneath, dip a finger in the drip and smell it, feel teh texture you can tell.

the regulator is right side of teh car towards teh bulk head, you need to lift the cover to get to it, easy enough to change just a bit fiddly
