RRC2970/1 Heavy Duty (military?) Bumperettes
Do the RRC2970/2971 Heavy Duty Bumperettes fit the Puma Defender and do you know if they come from suppliers with the 4 M10 (I think) bolts/nuts required. I believe these are as fitted to military Defenders?
Also - I guess they are strong enough to stand on if required?

Thanks Trevor Wright

First image (with part number) I suspect is the "real" LR part and the other is supposed to be the same but looks a different fitting. Trevor Wright

i have the ones on the left

made by land rover not after market they came in a land rover parts box

like all things defender they did fit the TD5 better on the TDCi i had to use the bolts to pull them into place

yes you can stand on them

also stops any little bumps in car park Rolling with laughter

Only problem is you have to drill the cross member for the inner mounting bolts 2.4 90 XS

From what I've discovered thus far, these RRC2970/2971 bumperettes were developed specifically for the military Defender XD (i.e. "Wolf") and not, as such, intended for other Defenders. However I'm told that as long as you get the Genuine Land Rover examples and not the pattern parts sold by many people, then they fit the Td5 without a problem and fit the Puma/TDCi - I believe without any drilling. I did ask a dealership and they really didn't know but said they were not listed as a 2008 Puma part. I could try asking LR at Solihull, not sure if they'd respond. Trevor Wright

Trevor, you do have to drill the cross member Bearbach's broshure tells you that, the bumperettes were originaly fitted to all military spec LR's from the sixty's along with the front ones. 2.4 90 XS

Checked the Bearmach catalogue and it says:

"HEAVY DUTY BUMPERETTES
Suitable for Defender, these bolt directly on to the cross member replacing the grab handles. Will also fit Series 2/3 vehicles but requires drilling of cross member. Made from heavy gauge steel and powder coated for durability. Will fit with Spare Wheel Carrier BA 132"

We have no grab handles on the Puma but I'm guessing the holes are still there. Trevor Wright
