White 64 plate, 31k serviced every 10k, much TLC spent.
Went into limp mode and EML came on while on country road while towing trailer/caterham. Finally managed to pull over and let long line of cars disappear. Switched off and back on, managed to drive the 80 miles home on motorway using minimum throttle. Plugged in the NANOCOM and came up with P0101-Mass or Volume Airflow-Circuit Range Performance. Reset ECU faults and EML went off. Went out yesterday and went into limp mode three times! Will check hoses and replace MAS (still got a spare from last time), but the question is? Do Allisport intercoolers only last 16k or is it just coincidence!!! Has anybody else had these issues? Well a nice new BAS Intercooler is now sitting happily in the front of my truck, with silicone hoses.
Not that Leigh at Finishing Touch had a happy day installing!! KBX, winch and AC, at least I get my AC recharged every 14 months! Attached is a photo of the weld rupture on the the old unit, this was virtually the same place as the first unit. Hopefully third time lucky, if it does go again, York is a lot closer than Gloucestershire! Subjectively - could you feel a performance difference between the BAS and Allisport IC's?

Not really, the truck pulls like a train.
Would have to put it back on the rolling road to prove . 2015 90 Keeper 2005 R300 Keeper 2019 XC40 Shopping Trolley 2008 110 XS Utility (Friday Build) Gone! |
