Heard that's a fairly popular conversion in South Africa. Doesn't sound like it needs too much if your proficient with a welder. I'd say really really good if I had 4 grand lying around

I know you can't tell to much from pic's but coming from there it could be a really tidy chassis/body, I've the £4k but only a rough gravel drive to work on and any engine hoist would sink

Because of the climate down there I would be more surprised if it had a bad chassis than a good one! You could always put the engine crane on some cinder blocks or a few sheets of ply or something like that

I'm guessing they made a poor job of the engine mounts? only a guess mind. It looks like it's been used like it is over there

That'd be my guess as well, not really anything else that'd need welding in an engine conversion. Unless the engine interferes with the bulkhead possibly? 1999 Land Rover Defender 110 td5 station wagon
