United Kingdom 2015 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 HT Keswick Green
[Wanted] Defender 90 / Series 3 88
Wanted Defender 90 - Budget is £10,000
Buyer is based in Surrey but willing to travel for the right Defender

I'm looking for a good honest, cherished, Defender 90. I'd rather buy from a fellow enthusiast but will be looking elsewhere to increase my chances.

I will be using the 90 to: ferry my large dog(s) around and throw equally mucky people into, toss a few mountain bikes onto, throw stuff from my barn into and generally use as it was intended. Therefore, pristine is not what I'm looking for but mechanically and structurally sound is.

What I'd like:
Documented Service history - doesn't have to be complete annual history but large gaps and no proof of maintenance is a deal-killer

A 90 that has been cared for and not a rusty, ratty, shed on wheels; therefore a history of corrosion protection and care is a must.

My preference is to own a green 90 this time - not essential but that would be my first choice.

Rear seats would be a benefit but aren't essential

What I don't want
Vehicles with little to no documented service history

Highly modified 90s

Anything with registered damage on the registration (CATC, etc)

Anything priced high because "yeah mate, production has ended and they are rare innit!?"

This purchase is a nice to have, not a have to have; therefore, I am happy to wait for the right one. My hope is that I find someone who has cherished their 90 and is upgrading to a newer model/110 and I can save them some hassle and find myself a cared for Defender.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Would also consider a structurally and mechanically sound, excellent condition, well cared for Series 2, 2a or 3.

I may end up going that route - there are certainly more than enough in the budget range I'd like to spend; however, I'd rather buy a 'known' quantity from an enthusiast, if possible. As I'm not in a rush, I'm biding my time. To be honest, the whole thing is man-logic; my RRS with a TransK9 dog cage would be the sensible, non-man-logic, far less expensive route. However, I have got the idea in my head that it would be nice to have a Defender/Series again, something my son and I can tinker with and generally not be precious about. The RRS is my daily driver and I don't like the idea of spending a winters Sunday evening cleaning the dirt, from muddy boots, dogs, small feet, etc, from the interior before work on a Monday.

What sort of timescale are you thinking of? - I will be looking to sell my 90 300Tdi SW in February next year but not before as it gets used for things very similar to your plans during the shooting season.

I'll buy as soon as I find the right one and have started to find my budget creeping up.

I've also refined exactly what I want and it is now pretty specific, so my plan is to re-write my wanted ad, on the off-chance that someone is shifting their 2008/09 Puma HT in Green.

Thumbs Up

Revised spec below:-

No worries, I'm still trying to work out a spec for what I want as a replacement, only thing I know for certain is it has to be a 110 as I need more room but then a toss up between double cab or station wagon with the balance leaning toward double cab at the moment Thumbs Up

Good luck with the search.
