Along with my wife, went for an induction session with Surrey 4x4 Response. Looks very interesting. We had our vehicles assessed, DBS checks put in hand and were quizzed on our experience.

I'm sure that Surrey is fairly benign compared to some areas but it'll be nice to be able to help out when needed.

Some of the training on offer looks pretty good, too. Darren

Shooting too - got caught out in a stubble field when the track across it became very deeply rutted. Managed to bend the front disc brake guards enough for them to catch on the discs all the way home (bloody awful noise which I worked out the cause of when I got back).
Why are the things so flimsy? How hard is it, LR, to make something fit for purpose?🙄

Not today, but last week: visited my sister in Northern Italy near the Slovenian border. 17 hours - including 4 coffee & pee stops - of effortless and wonderful driving. Again I am amazed how well and smooth this 300Tdi engine performes, never missing a beat, even after 20 years and 375.000 kms. Some time ago I installed seat risers and they did made a difference in seating comfort. Had a good time exploring the area, and gave a helping hand in de vineyard Wink

Vincent, I'm always in for giving a helping hand at such job. Laughing

Today on the SVX, I applied ACF-50 on the foam strips front to rear, doubled up the spare wheel security, put the steel nuts and the ceramic grease in the truck ready for next fridays winterwheel installation. Also put the yellow Hella Comet 550 fogs back in replacement of the white versions which were on all summer long. You know, those "pig ugly warts" as called by a once prominent member on here. Whistle Laughing
Otherwise it started raining here this morning, so the truck stays put under cover for now until that is over again. Cool
Eric

As I am professionally involved in R&D and Quality Control (of Pharmaceuticals) you can imagine I find it of utmost importance to take samples at regular intervals during the bottling process and do some organoleptic testing! Laughing Thumbs Up Cheers, Vincent

Vincent, I have experience with those products too, you know. Many decades ago at the beginning of my professional career in Antwerp, our group which essentially is active in numerous soft commodities processing, shipping and trading had a brilliant idea for diversification. Our Argentine outfit had created a division "Nuevos Negocios", and asked us to investigate the possibilities to market Argentine wines to the major Belgian supermarket chains. We, as good grains traders, said no problem, but we need samples first. Whistle
So there comes this wooden crate with 60 bottles of red Argentine wine selection to our office. One bottle had leaked and the labels of a few of the other wine bottles had some wine spots on them. So we stayed quiet about it for a week or so, until our Argentine office inquired about the whereabouts of their crate. We told them the truth, the crate had arrived, but the bottles were damaged, so we asked for new samples to be sent. Cool
Don't remember why, but somehow that was the end of the Argentine wine distribution idea at that time. Nuevos Negocios did not survive very long, we went quickly back to our core business. Laughing
So, to be clear, when it comes to wines, I am sure that you and I will find some common action ideas. Thumbs Up

I use exactly the same "cover", BUT,.....not for frost,.....exactly the opposite, for keeping the blazing hot Aussie sun off the dashboard & interior, when parked!!

Fitted a nice shiny new alternator. The bearings were shot on the old one and it was making a horrible noise at tickover. Pretty easy job and only cost £87. Just sorting a few things out before we book it in for its MOT some time next week.

Runs much more smoothly now. Thumbs Up Matt.
