TD5 console cigarette lighter removal
Probably a daft question. It's getting dark now and I have been trying to remove the cigarette lighter out of my centre console (2003). I've removed the power cables and bulb unit, but can't quite see how to take off the green plastic sleeve to release the unit.
Any ideas?

Thanks

It was a while ago I took mine out, but I don't recall the green bit coming off separately. I took the whole plate off (ah, just realized yours is the new dash, mines a 2001 old style... Embarassed ).

Cheers

Simon

The green ring is part of the socket. A few tabs on the back of the socket need compressing to push the whole unit out from the back. Ray

Have you replaced it with a 12V socket? or something else?
