Tdi boost pin
Just wondered if anyone had one fitted and what you think to it? Did you make any other adjustments to the pump?

Cheers

There was some discussion on this subject some while back. It will work if the pump has not been tuned before but no benefit if it has already been tuned. Straight forward replacement just remember where everything was in place. Jeff

Hi.

Yes the pin makes a difference, it is designed to work on the base standard fueling settings else it'll throw all the rest of the calibrations out. It is not simply throwing more diesel in, it is worked out to add a better amount in relation to the boost ergo the air coming in.
I'll admit i have a vested interest as an employee of the largest selling pin company but i always come back to 800+ customers are very happy with their boost pins.

Above is my brothers 90 which is a test bed for the pin and for those who want to know it has the Pin + Full Width intercooler + Mid box Delete + TD5 tail pipe.

It goes very very well and even if you were conservative enough to not want that initial puff of smoke caused by full throttle, by adjusting the starwheel back. (I know as it has been turned forward to just gives us that extra snap to the pick up speed) the setup will still far exceed the usual no pin tweeked mods that are on the net.

Is an updated intercooler required or would the standard 300 intercooler be sufficient?

I have driven one car with one and it did make a difference. He said you need to be careful of the exhaust temperatures as it can get very hot under high load so fitted an exhaust temp gauge as well.

Think what I'm saying is you need to read into it before fitting and causing damage! It is an old engine as well, do you want to put more stress through it? 2015 RRS Autobiography SDV6
