Wolfrace wheels
Has anyone used Wolfrace Wheels on their defender and if so are they worth it / any good. They are currently doing what appear to be a few good deals on eblag. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

I have been looking at these phill, the gunmetal grey sawtooth copies. Good price for them and seem rated at 1350kg. Wolf race are a well established brand that have been around for quite a while so would not have any issues with their quality I just need to find the cash to buy them Big Cry

I've bought a set of these on eBay after a few beers at the weekend.

They've arrived and actually look well made although I'm now looking at pictures of Sawtooth alloys on the internet to work out how much of a close copy they are.

I can't help but feel the centre section of the wolfrace wheel projects further out than they should.

The hub part of these wheels projects out further than the rim of the wheel. Do real Sawtooth wheel do this?

Here's a picture of a Sawtooth wheel on my Defender, supplied new fit by Landrover main dealer so should be the genuine article:-

Hope this helps ?

Ok, so these wheels are sold by Wolfrace who also offer a close sawtooth copy. A set of 5 these wheels is £250 cheaper than their sawtooth copy at £340 delivered.

The quality seems good and the load rating is 1350kg but they do look a bit different, not necessarily in bad way.

The offset of these wheels is at the same at ET20 but the centre section is thicker and so sticks out further. The result is a less dished effect.

I've decided to fit them while I make up my mind. I think the sawtooth may look better but maybe not £250 better.

I'll try to upload some photos...

Seems there is a difference looking at the wolfrace website. These (and the ones I bought) are called the 'explorer LRD' while they also do another wheel called the 'explorer sawtooth'. The sawtooths look much more like the actual real sawtooth, ie thinner spokes and a less potruding hub.

So now I've gone back to wolfrace to cancel my order, as I'm not buying what I thought I was. 2002MY Defender 90 H/T
