Humberside Owners of Defenders warned after 15 thefts

"Police are warning owners of Land Rover Defenders to be on their guard after a spate of 15 thefts.

The thefts have been across the Humberside Police Force area since November 1.

Owners have been asked to ensure that their vehicles are left securely and if they have an alarm ensure that it is activated.

If anyone witnesses people acting suspiciously around cars they are urged to call 999 if there is a crime in progress or 101 in a non-emergency.

Police would also like to speak to anyone with information about the theft of the Land Rover Discoveries or anyone handling the vehicles."
