Rev gauge

I've decided to fit some gauges, first off a rev counter, and later I'll probably replace the useless temperature gauge with one that tells me things, along with oil temp, pressure and boost.

Or I'll get an EMS2, but they're not cheap!!

I don't fancy the £300 for a genuine one, and the £100 RDX ones have vanished.

Does anyone know what the signal is out of the ECU, and what a standard gauge expects? I can do the electronics in the middle quite easily, but if anyone has anything to point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it before I buy a normal gauge, and drag the scope out!
