Strange behaviour
I had a strange phenomenon with my Td5 110 today. It had been driving fine on a few short errands today but when I went off on the school run it just didn't seem right, there was a noticeable delay with the throttle. I know there was a fair headwind but even so it just felt like it was making a hard job of it.
Whilst sat waiting outside the school I thought about what I had done earlier in the day, I had taken a couple of tow chains up to where a trailer was stuck in a field and I had been in low box, it was last year's stubble and pretty soft after the rain last night. As I was leaving the field to get on the road I had changed into high box on the move, probably 10 or 15 mph.
At the school I reversed a little in low box, back into high and it was back to normal on the way home. I know the ECM reads whether you are in high or low and adjusts the mapping to suit, I think that my super smooth low to high change didn't register and it was still on the alternative map setting.
