How do you pack your stuff in the roof?
This will be our second trip in Mexico, we are traveling to Baja.
I travel with 4 kids and two adults so the only place to fit some bags is the roof.
I use plastic boxes 6 of them, but fitting them is a 20 min hard work, and sometimes we need to do 4 times in a day because is very unsafe to let them on the roof.
Do you have better solution?
Plastic boxes can be piled up and stored inside the 110 defender, but strapping them each time is very time consuming

For long trips I have some metal ammo boxes (from military surplus) which I store on the roof. In these boxes are bits and pieces which do not require regular use, e.g. spare parts and recovery gear. I made a metal strap to secure the boxes to the roofrack with a padlock, so I can leave them on the roofrack when the vehicle is left unattended. Storage boxes with parts for daily use (food, camping gear) are stored inside the vehicle. Cheers, Vincent
