Not had a chance to sort it yet, long days at work this week and dark when i get home. I don't get smoke on start up, just a misfire through the rev range, coupled with the diesel leak. Parts should be here tomorrow so I'll get on Iit over the weekend. 1999 Td5 110 CSW

hi, not hijacking the thread but looking to join in with advice / help, I too have a similar problem, cleaned red plug, checked ecu, replaced injector loom, still the same, have you got to the root cause yet, think mine might be an injector at fault, first thing in the morning loads of smoke and runs like a bag of spanners, then clears but with a misfire that comes and goes, does yours do the same thing ?

I see that adseybear, you had a fault like mine, have you resolved the injector fault, if so where did you get the injectors reconn'ed, can anyone recommend some one who recon's the blue top injectors, pref around Birmingham area

Before removing injectors check all cables and connector between engine ECU and injector, not only the injector loom in the engine head. Goods description with pictures in in RAVE.
I have found corroded connector on the ECU side, once cleaned and pins in connector a bit bent, all is OK now. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo Smile

Over this weekend I've done the FPR and the injector loom. While I've not been for a long run, nipping round the block has resulted in the engine settling quickly into a nice rhythm with no apparent misfire. I'll give it a blast up some local hills later this evening.

Thanks for all the advice so far.

Yep. All sorted. Running sweet as a nut, including a 75mph blast up the A404. 1999 Td5 110 CSW
