Puma Vs TD5 windscreen frames
With having some bulkhead repairs planned, now is a good time to replace the frame with one that is not corroding.

Are these the same between models/years? 1999 Defender TD5 110

I'd like a new one too - I've been looking around but most of the ones that have come up have been rougher than mine ...

As mine is starting to bubble I've decided to buy a good condition one, get it blasted, zinc coated, powder coated and then painted. Which should hopefully keep it from ever bubbling again, then it's all new seals fitted with sikaflex so hopefully it will never leak, but I suppose I could be going a little extreme Embarassed Ray

Since it's aluminium, would it not be better to get it anodised ?

I wondered that - the finish it nearly always poor on cast, but that wouldn't be a problem. Perhaps finding somewhere to accommodate the size would be the challenge. It certainly wouldn't corrode again.

I bought a new/take off screen (still had the sticker on the glass Cool ) last year including frame, the Puma frame finish was very much better than my original TD5 frame, perfectly smooth as opposed to er, very rough cast . Not sellin it tho coz you can buy frames for pennies on eblag, will wait a couple of months till 10 yr old rotten pov spec. Defenders fetch the 50k in the classifieds Rolling Eyes .Then sell it for 400squid. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.
