Check security of intercooler hoses, clips and for evidence of splitting. Also check your Catalytic convertor heatshields for security too.

Thanks for the pointers, I'll do this tomorrow when I remove the fold down steps and report back. Hopefully something simple for a change

This is what i got. in one of my customers defenders, any similarities to yours This has done 214 ooo km power is sort of still ok, no crankcase pressure, no oil or water usage Richard |

Hi
We had similar on a well maintained 2007 150k example. Turned out to be camshaft, lifters badly worn and timing chain tensioner. There was also debate about oil pressure but I cannot remember if they changed the oil pump. Dave |

This is the source of the noise in our case
haven't checked timing chain or tensioner |
