Morning Guys and Girls, has anyone had experience of a Stage 1 Remap from these guys, also their suspension option to make the old 90 handle better? I'd appreciate your thoughts. Cheers Life is one big adventure, that's why we have the vehicle for the journey.

Yeah, got a 1st stage about a month ago. They've got a cheap offer on at the moment

I heard loads of good feedback from them and I was poised with a few questions...

I mentioned to the guy with the laptop that I was going to decat my 90 and the EGR had been removed, so was there a specific tweak that would best match this setup?

"Look, I just plug the laptop in, look under the bonnet and everyone gets the same."

I didn't feel like a unique customer, like all the reviews I was reading.

I'm not saying it was a bad tune though, my 90 goes like the nuts now!

Brilliant, cheers Billy. I've got the usual decat, no centre silencer and free flow filter so fingers crossed it should go quite well. Any news on the suspension? Life is one big adventure, that's why we have the vehicle for the journey.

I'd give Ian at IRB a shout. much more customer friendly.

I'd agree with that. Ian will also take account of your vehicles setup and check that it's in fine health before he remaps it. Dave

If he had spoken to me like that then I would have left it.

I had my old one done with them and found the tune was great, didn't have any bad service from them, just waited in reception whilst they did it.....

whilst we all like to personalise our LR's, is there really much difference between them mechanically? it's not like their finely tuned race cars and every tweek makes a massive difference.... i would prefer to have a slightly worse service from a widely known company than a one man band custom made install. (i'm not saying IRB or anyone else should be avoided, just my opinion on tunes in general). Smile

I am new around here, but not to Defenders - so hi.

I had a chip done by them a couple of years ago for the resons mentioned - special offer and 'image' I guess.

It did produce more power for sure, but I felt it didn't improve low down torque but certainly flew when the turbo got going!

As I drove away I had some surging so took it straight back, but later fixed myself a sticking wastegate which cured the problem.

It was good for money, but imho opinion - not perfect.

I had my Defender remapped by BAS. This replaced a plug-in SteinBauer unit that the previous owner had installed.

I got personal attention and a tune that suited what I wanted, what suited the car and how I would drive it - far better than sitting and waiting, in my opinion.

I would certainly recommend either BAS or IRB.
