Fitting a Rear Door Light Switch
I've just started doing a few jobs to my new Landy (standard 2003 TD5 Hardtop - no rear roof lining) and after getting the alarm / immobiliser to work with the Nanocom have been looking at fitting the rear door switch - how difficult could that be??

After getting said switch and screwing it in place, it was then time to connect up the electrical wiring and this is where the fun has started. I've got the 2002 electrical circuit diagram and the 02 TD5 Electric Library and these show that even a basic hard top should have a wire (Purple with Blue trace) from block C0488 (pin 4) above the front headlining that runs to the connector C1993 at the rear rhs which connects to the switch. I can't find this wire hidden anywhere at the moment and before I rip the headline down does anyone know if it might be hidden somewhere (e.g. taped to part of the loom somewhere?)

I suspect thats what I'm going to end up doing, but wanted to try and keep the electrics as original as possible especially as its part of the input circuitry on the 10AS. Time to go into the garage and dig through all my old Landy wiring looms to see if I've got some of the correct colour etc. - OCD time. 2003 Defender TD5 Hardtop (current - work in progress)

I ran a new wire from the front to the rear in the end and connected it into the wiring connector roughly at the front in line with the drivers head. Lights and alarm now working great especially now I've fitted a rear headlining and additional lighting. 2003 Defender TD5 Hardtop (current - work in progress)
