1985 90": Difficulties getting LT230 into "HIGH&qu

I have an old 90", original 2.5 N/A, now 200 tdi.
The engine hasn't been in the car for many miles (kilometers), but still it has done approx 280,000 miles (450.000 kms).
It is very easy to get the transher into "LOW", but getting it back to "HIGH" is — challenging.
Lubracation?
New box?

You might have to adjust the linkage. Roel

1984 90 2.5 na Diesel - RR V8 (1994-2001)
1997 Camel Trophy Discovery 300TDI (2001-2009)
2005 G4 Discovery III 4.4 V8 (2008-2018) It's gone but it still hurts.
2003 90 Td5 (2009-now)
