Osram night breakers without a doubt, and although you say that you're not interested in a bowl upgrade the Chrystal wypac bowls work brilliantly with them.
The other thing that is well worth the effort is making a headlight loom, again huge difference. Jason |

The problem with the original wiring is that Land Rover in their wisdom run the headlight circuit through the headlight switch before it goes to the lights. This means that the voltage at the light plugs can often be a couple of volts lower than the actual battery output.
The solution to this is to put a simple loom into the bonnet often powered from the live on the alternator, this is then fused inline before being connected to a waterproof relay/relays. The existing loom is unplugged and the O/S H4 plug is used for the trigger for the relay/relays and the N/S H4 plug is insulated off. By making this loom and connecting it in this way you ensure that the maximum amount of voltage is received by the headlights, and also take the load off the switch, which can prolong its life. These looms are also available pre made if your electricky skills are not up to it. Jason.
