Heat gun or a good blow dryer to warm the vinyl up and then the letters peel off pretty much in one piece. Donīt burn your fingers! 1998 Tdi 90 SW,

Removed mine earlier this year (vehicle was a couple of weeks old). Just used a hair dryer to warm it up and it peeled off in one piece. Only a very slight amount of residue left behind which cleaned up easily with a bit of quick detailer. There was no damage to the paintwork.

Mine was crusty and wouldn't peel off no matter what so I used a toffee wheel on my drill. Came off in seconds! 2016 D4 HSE

Badges heat gun and a bit of fishing wire get them off in seconds, looks like the same will work on the badge with a bit of care. What did you guys use to get off the residue anything special? Mike |

Small IPA alcohol wipes are good for removing residues.

have mixed luck with sticky residue - usually on beam converts i have to say - sometimes off in an instant, other times takes ages Mike |

Did mine yesterday heat gun then a squirt of brake cleaner. all done in a flash.

I very very carefully used a sharp Stanley knife blade. (But you need to be most careful of)
Used this you just peel the edge up only, once that was up then just pull it back on its self opposite of fitting. Then clean up with Alcohol wipe. (Brake cleaner will work too) After that I'd wipe down with water and leave it to dry or dry it off so no residue is left of the cleaner either. 3D badges ive found dental floss to work well to first cut through the adhesive backing to release the lettering. |

I would get a bit of heat into the panel before sticking the badge on so it adheres properly.
