Range Rover Evoque front seats in a Defender?
Hi i own a 90 from 2011 and i'm wondering if it is possible to fit Evoque seats to my defender?
I think the biggest problem would be the hight of the seating.
Does anyone have a clue on where to find the workshop manual for an evoque?

Cheers,

Rick

Wouldn't they be too advanced/technical and require some kind of link to a higher end ECU for the airbags, remote adjustment etc? Not to mention the price. I bet you they would cost more than even a pair of equivalent Recaros which we all know fit well.... Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....

A mate of mine has RRS seats in his defender. Wiring to the seat was pretty simple allowing all the adjustment to work. Airbag is still inside the seat but not connected so is in effect just ballast now!

You Thank it's possible to get some pictures of those RRS seats in a defender? Because I think the seat base of those seats are even higher.
I've done some research and all the electrical stuf is build in the seat, so all the movement would be possible if I wire up the 12v to the seats. Of course the airbag won't work though.

I don't like the look of the recaro's and there is a scrapyard close to where I live which is specialized in Range Rover parts, they have a couple of seats from crashed evoque's. Which I do like the look of, I think it's just a matter of hooking up the power to the seats since all the electricals are build in the seat.

Pop along with a tape measure or even with your defender, as it takes only 10mins to pop the front seats out and you can lift the evoque seat in, and if someone holds it from behind, even practice sitting in it. Then you'll know not only that it fits, but if it 'looks' right... Thumbs Up Monsieur Le Grenadier

So turns out the seats are to wide. too high as well but the seat base wasn't that compact so i figured i could change that, but because the seat is so wide that the seating position changes to much towards the center of the car.

I've done some digging around and the best i could find that would fit are porsche seats and from a smart for two.

Try the seats of a Citroen Xsara Picasso...
No a Porsche one but if you are looking for comfort are OK
I seen some Defenders with those seats in Argentina.

Cheers Eduardo

Think so too. Nothing wrong with those Recaros. Whistle Surely better than anything coming out of an Eeewok. Laughing You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Also, the seat control module on Evoque seats is coded to VIN, so will only work on that Evoque, it's not as simple as supplying a 12V feed. An engine to TDi for!
