Mine's fine. I never have to use the handbrake on hill starts.

With a Td5 it is quite an art, the trick is to let the clutch pedal out completely before throttle. When I had a test drive in a Puma it took me a couple of attempts before I got it right and then when I got back into my own Td5 to drive home I stalled it getting out of the Experience carpark, that's embarrassing

Yes don't touch the clutch pedal or the throttle. The td5 is really capable in low first as long as it is a little smooth if it falls in a ditch with both front wheels it still probably stalles but if it is a steep hill you will be amazed how much it does. Roel
