Hi sharkey964:
Having just returned from your neck of the woods, I know that's a long old drive up that you've got ahead of you! We came back via Roscoff - which route are you taking? Hi wyvern: I'm glad to hear that it's a good show. I've been reading LRO for years, and John Pearson has always seemed like a decent bloke, from the email contact that i've had with him in the past, so I'd hoped that would be the case. I was planning on camping & making a weekend of it, off-road course and all. Hope to see few of you there! '57 Defender 110 XS Station Wagon 2.4tdci |

i hope to be at the Peterborough show this year - my first Landie event.
Can anyone tell me whether this is the kind of place/event to have a Skytag or similar installed? I assume there are suppliers etc selling gear but also wondered if you can have these kind of things done too. 2015 Overfinch Defender XS 90 1998 50th Anniversary V8 1989 90 CSW Many Discoveries... |

as a social event its well worth while
not as many traders as the old days but enough plenty of scrap and tat for sale of the landy and car shows i rate it as the best the lads who set up the arena work very hard and put on a good show |

I think it is the best Land Rover show in the calendar. Billing has its charms, but I would never camp there, I have heard too many horror stories of theft and drunk traders driving cars around the site into the early hours. Peterborough however has been great, I have been about 5 times and camped about 3 times. Persuaded the Mrs to let me camp for the full weekend this year, leaving her with our 6 month old baby and 3 year old toddler!
Well worth it in my opinion. Cheers, Guy. DINGO - '99 Discovery 2 V8 with 300Tdi transplant, chawton white. We will be there too, also camping from Friday to Sunday on the LRO show-camping.
Afterwards we will stay until Friday and visit The Cotswolds, Bath, Stonehenge (of course) and then go down to the coast and back to Dover..... If someone has other suggestions please let me know. I'm also looking for a nice green-laning afternoon somewhere around these areas so Thx regards Wim |

Some of the best greenlaning in the UK is on Salisbury Plain. However, it pays to plan routes carefully because most of the land belongs to the military, so it is important only to use authorised tracks - avoiding lots of tracks which are visible but off limits to the public! I would also recommend an afternoon in Winchester if you can make time, it is a beautiful city. Beaulieu motor museum is good too - expensive though! Good luck, and enjoy your visit to England. Guy.
