Oops - delaminated inter cooler hose?
Hi folks, hope someone can shed some light on a possible ac issue?

During 350 mile run through France in 30 degree heat with AC on noticed engine hiccup/stuttering.....switched off AC and no repeat. Tested AC later on arrival at campsite, just idling and engine hunts/stutters slightly (drops 250 revs but not uniform).

Engine runs perfect without AC on so don't think it's one of hoses....

Any ideas? We've a long way yet and a hairy lab who likes his AC Smile

2012 110 utility....

Cheers!

As a/consequence pump and fan cut in and out it can cause a stutter due to the extra load

Delaminated hose?

Just having a good check over the 110 and this hose looks very suspect.....this is the hose on right hand (drivers side) looks like an outer sheath has split over the bend?

Can clearly see a split and separation in a short outer sleeve...over the spiral, the rest of hose looks ok but can't see below this part.

Could be AC is distracting from real issue? Question is whether we need to get hose replaced here in France (could be a saga)

The split hose seems be turbo to intercooler hose (Which is kind of a weird hose for an intercooler hose) Seems to be standard ducting hose. If this is the case I would definitely recommend immediate replacement, as this is after the airfilter you rub the risk of the engine taking in all kinds of crap.

This would definitely explain your issue as you miss pretty much all turbo pressure.

Hose part number: PNH500670

the one with the metal spiral around it is definitely the intercooler hose... would need immediate replacement if it is split...

Thanks all - sent pics to dealers and they recommended it's ok to drive as the hose is a multilayer hose with sheath over the reinforcing spiral...and as no evident loss of power, excessive whistling or fault lights on.

Hope it lasts till we get back tomorrow. LR assist back from France would be a pain!
Bloody LR hoses!

Well, happy to say we made it home safely under our own steam, after 1500 miles.

Just waiting for Dealer to get it in and check it over.

Thanks for all the advice.
