Unidentified cable
Hi all,

Please see the photos below, the green and purple cable (it's located in the conduit cable on the left in the 2nd picture) and the blue multi plug.

These photos are taken on a 110 CSW 2001 TD5, OS behind the rear brake light cover.

Both are unattached, does anybody know what they are for?

I heard that there is a purple power cable in the new defenders on the OS rear behind a speaker.

I'm hoping to run a cable or use the purple one if its a power cable I think it is to run a 12v socket, any reason why I shouldn't?

Ps, tried to take a voltage, but was only reading 0.29volts, so either I have a duff multi meter, a bad earth, or everything is fine and I am being silly (again).

Cheers
Andy

If I understand correctly, purple wire anywhere on your Defender should have full 12 volt, constant power.

Thanks, it was Purple, with a green strip I think?

Do you know where it would be fused from?

Also do you know if its an ignition switched live?

Not a problem if it isn't, I'll run a wire from the dash to a relay and mount it adjacent to my sockets.

Thanks for the help.

Cheers
Andy

I think the blue multi plug may reverse light (LHD models) and orange multi plug is fog light. Seem to remember looms are made same for left and right hand drive and as such interchangeable fog/reverse light positions (check to see if you have a spare orange plug on other side?)

Great, thanks.

Will verify the multi plugs with multi meter Wink

Any idea where I can buy Land Rover multi plugs from?

Cheers
