just to throw a spanner in the works !

most swaying starts because of not enough nose weight

put extra weight at the back of a trailer and it will sway at 20mph

Absolutely correct, Thumbs Up extra weight at the back of a trailer has the effect of lifting the towing vehicles back wheels, that’s why trailers should always be loaded correctly. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Hi All,

Done some research in to the tow hitch (Winterhoff 3000). It has a maximum nose weight of 150kg. So at 120-130kg I'm under that weight by at least 10%.

Does any body know of where I can get a 2 pin slider for a Dixon-Bate adapter plate?

Regards Myn. Smoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast.

Loads out there make sure that you buy genuine, obviously, and go for the later model pins that have two holes for the clips instead of the one on earlier models. Two sliders four clips double the safety. Thumbs Up

One thing to mention if you have bought a shock link, make sure you remove it when not towing, otherwise it will be nicked. Sliders get stolen all the time but a slider with a shock link attached, it will be like a magnet to a scum bag thief.

One of the first things I do when parked up on the pitch is remove the shock link and hide it in the caravan. I also have a locking boss for the pins which is a good idea especially if you park up in a service area for a cup of coffee or such.

If you purchase the shocklink for Bradley double click the back plate (adjustable plate) is attached.

I was talking to the company about six months ago during the conversation I was told that there are some fake sliders on sale which do not have the weight rating of D&B items. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

With some of the none genuine sliders the problem is not down to the ‘slider’, it is down to the slider pins, which on some copies have had the pins break with disastrous results. Years ago before DIxon Bate was purchased by Bradley they had a warning on their web site about copy sliders Bradley does not seem to have the warning on their site. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..
