I fitted Entreq Stainless Steel mud flap brackets to front and rear, these are powder coated black so look stock. Down side is they are horrendously expensive

ive not had a problem front bumper corrosion but first four ones seen to be better made
flap mounts , for cheapness buy replacement ones and rub down and repaint better before fitting and put some anti rust wax on the bolt threads before fitting and on the mating surface between bracket and chassis |

nice thick layer of black wax on mating surface (you will get messy ) bolt up so waxoyl oozes out of joint , wipe off excess from along joint , seals the joint stopping water getting in
plenty of waxoyl on threads ( very commom for seizing up ) , because you will need to take off again at some time , there mud flats so will get stone chips in paint etc |

Sorry Steve E it wasn't Nakatanenga it was Entreq that I fitted, bought them from 4x4 Overlander.

Take a look at Devon 4x4, enter D44DEFNOWINCHSTD in to the search box. 5mm heavy duty bumper with some serious front recovery points. Received mine last week, not fitted yet but I'm very impressed with the build quality. Treat yourself to some stainless fixing bolts at the same time |

Take a look at the Gwyn Lewis front mud flap kits on our website.
Galvanised brackets and they move the front flaps forwards to stop muck up the side of the doors. Also included are panels to 'finish' the inner wheel arch, protecting the outrigger |

Got fed up with bumper rusting so fitted a stainless steel one. Front and back Mud flap brackets replaced with Galvanised ones and sprayed black.

Even with standard wheel and tire sizes I would make a case for the Entreq front mudflap extensions. Sit about 3 cm further out, so help (a bit) to keep the side of the truck cleaner when it rains. They are especially top SS quality, and I have proof that 1.5 years after I installed them, the powder coating remains as new.

Good quality by the looks of it too, but must admit I still have those in storage as my original rear mudflaps still are like new, and I just have the Entreq reinforcement brackets on those. Another vote for the Gwyn Lewis mudflap kits, available from Matt now.
Definitely the best mod ive done, had the front kit on my last 3 defenders and will get the rear kit they now offer at some stage. 10/ 10 and look so neat aswell as protecting the sides and outrigger. |
