HGV speed limit change in England and Wales

From the 6th April - wonder what difference it will really make considering so many disregard the existing limits. (Although there is one company around here which is notable for actually adhering to them).

It will make no difference. Cars will still overtake. The only way this would have been workable was to have a blanket 50mph limit on all single lane roads for all types of traffic, and enforce it. I can say also that I have been overtaken countless times even when doing 60mph in my 110, the fact is that psychologically people do not like being behind a vehicle they can't see past/over, so they want to pass. Why they don't just slow down and keep a distance is beyond my understanding. 2011 110 USW
